Summary:
The South Carolina State Museum is seeking an hourly wage seasonal employee to work in the Retail Store, Cotton Mill Exchange for 20-30 hours/week. The hourly wage is $7.50-$8.00 and is based on retail experience. Willing to work with students' class schedules, and we offer a generous discount in the store and cafe! Experience should include proficiency with a point of sale retail software, counting money and retail selling. Job Duties will include Guest Services, sales, stocking merchandise and lifting boxes. Visual merchandise experience a plus.

Position: American Architectural Historian

The Department of Art in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of South Carolina, Columbia invites applications for a tenured or tenure track appointment at the Assistant or Associate level beginning in the Fall of 2011. Ph. D. in art history and experience in teaching are required. Consideration will be given to specialists in any area of American architecture. The successful candidate will be expected to teach the survey of American painting prior to 1900 in addition to those devoted to American architecture and more specific seminar topics. Special consideration will be given to candidates able or willing to participate in the College’s Southern Studies Program. The University of South Carolina is the state’s flagship research institution that expects an active and distinguished record of publication and professional service. This appointment is being made as part of the Department’s efforts to reinstate its currently suspended MA Program in Art History. The successful candidate would be expected, therefore, to direct graduate as well as undergraduate students in their research. The teaching load is 3/2.
